History

History of the Institution

The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), West Garo Hills, Tura, was established on 1st June 2004. It is situated in Rongkhon in the outskirts of the town surrounded by hills, lush green trees and gentle flowing streams. It is about 5 km away from the main town. The Tura-Rongram Road and the National Highway 51 passes near the institute, which is convenient to locate. The academic session started with 2 year Elementary Teacher’s Training Programme w.e.f.
